RIC open fittings look quite similar to the open fittings. But contrary to most conventional behind-the-ear instruments, the receiver is placed within the canal. Since the receiver is no longer within the behind-the-ear (BTE) unit, but inside the canal – and connected to the BTE component via thin tubing – the BTE unit is particularly small, light, and inconspicuous.
Today’s technology provides significant advances over older, conventional linear hearing aids. We use modern software to fit the majority of our hearing aids, allowing us a more precise fit and easier adjustments. We now have a variety of hearing aids that use rechargeable batteries, Bluetooth compatibility, digital signal processors, automatic directional microphones, core noise reduction, and automatic volume, telephone capabilities and different remote control options. All of these features are designed to help the patient hear better in a wide variety of listening situations.
Complimentary demonstrations of all of our products are available in our office, with a scheduled appointment.
